Our Story
In 2019, we launched our firm by focusing on the entrepreneurial community at Caltech. There we have found core science breakthroughs, deep tech innovation and a highly supportive environment for a new generation of founders.
In our first three years, we have invested in 30 companies, forming our initial portfolio of category creating companies that leverage proprietary IP, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and advanced technologies to move to market faster and more efficiently than ever.

Our Team
David Fleck
Founder & Managing Partner
David founded Freeflow Ventures to enable science-driven companies to grow and flourish. He combines his experience in company creation, product management, fundraising and deal-making to serve founders with meaningful insight and contributions. His background includes formative experiences at PwC, Bain & Company and Google among others. Prior to starting Freeflow, David was Chief Strategy Officer at Disqus where he helped lead the sale of the company in 2017.
Kevin Barrett
Managing Partner
Kevin is a company builder with nearly 30 years of start-up, deal-making and operating experience in the health, medical device and life sciences industries. His career includes leadership positions at Bain Capital Ventures, SV Life Sciences, PolyMedica Corporation, BG Medicine and Synergy Informatics. Prior to Freeflow, Kevin was president and CEO of Altegra Health and led the successful sale of the company for over $900M.
