Membrion is a Freeflow Fund Two portfolio company led by Founder & CEO Greg Newbloom that offers a science-based solution to harsh water recovery. Membrion has developed the world’s first ceramic desalination membrane that enables recovery of up to 98% of water in harsh environments. Water has become an increasingly scarce resource, exacerbated by global climate change and steadily increasing demands for water essential for industrial, technological, and agricultural production worldwide. The company was founded specifically to address the challenges in industrial wastewater where the only method of dealing with these hard-to-treat discharges was trucking the wastewater for offsite treatment.

Membrion’s commercial water recovery system continues to gain traction with industrial customers as a “water as a service” offering that can achieve up to 98% water recovery with 90% less energy utilization and 10% of typical costs.
